Safety & Contraindications

The Q-Bed is contactless and non-invasive, but it is not appropriate for everyone. This page identifies reasons to contact us and obtain qualified medical guidance before booking.

Last updated: July 2026

Please check with us — or your doctor — before booking if you:

  • Are pregnant or think you might be.
  • Have a pacemaker, defibrillator (ICD), cochlear implant, neurostimulator, or any implanted electronic device.
  • Have epilepsy or a seizure disorder.
  • Are currently being treated for cancer (please clear it with your oncologist first).
  • Have had recent surgery, an active blood clot (DVT), or any active bleeding condition.
  • Are in an acute mental-health crisis, or are under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
  • Have any significant medical condition and are unsure whether deep relaxation and gentle vibration are appropriate for you.

Some of these may mean a component is omitted, the visit is postponed, or the session is declined. We do not decide whether a medical condition is safe; when qualified guidance is needed, obtain it from your treating healthcare provider. We would always rather pause than guess.

What to tell us at intake

Before your first session we'll ask a few simple questions. Please let us know about any medications you take, medical conditions, implanted devices, or if you're pregnant, so we can tailor (or reschedule) your session appropriately.

What the Q-Bed is — and isn't

The Q-Bed is wellness technology intended for relaxation and comfort. It is not medical treatment, it does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease, and it is never a substitute for qualified healthcare. If you have a health concern, please see an appropriate provider and keep taking any prescribed medication unless that provider tells you otherwise.

During your session, you're in control

  • You stay fully clothed and the session is contactless.
  • You can pause or stop at any time, for any reason.
  • Tell your practitioner if anything feels uncomfortable — intensity and duration can be adjusted.
